Ocean View High’s Dana Abascal, Alyson Nguyen and Katelyn Taylor made the All-Golden West League first team in girls’ volleyball.
The trio led the Seahawks (11-15, 7-3 in league) to a second-place finish in the league.
Abascal, a junior opposite, was the primary hitting option for the Seahawks.
Nguyen, a senior libero, moved over to the position following the graduation of Kelli Greiner. She had previously handled the setting for the team.
Taylor, a junior, saw most of her court time at setter, but she would also look to attack on the second touch.
Sophomore outside hitter Ava Arce and freshman opposite Scarlett Russ earned second-team honors.
Ocean View qualified for the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs, but it lost at home to Troy in three sets in the first round.
Garden Grove senior setter Sydney Nguyen was named the Golden West League MVP. The Argonauts (28-9, 10-0) advanced to the Division 7 final, losing to Bermuda Dunes Desert Christian Academy in four sets.
