Dump truck runs into hillside

The driver of a dump truck was uninjured after the vehicle struck a curb and then veered into a hillside Friday, Laguna Beach police said.
A 41-year-old Santa Ana man apparently lost control of the truck when the brakes failed while going down Park Avenue at 11:13 a.m., according to police.
A quart of gasoline entered a storm drain near Wendt Terrace and Park Avenue as a result of the crash, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.
Police said none of the gas reached the beach, and Laguna Beach firefighters dammed the drain to block any additional fuel from entering, Callus said.
Park Avenue was closed in both directions until 2 p.m., according to police.
