In conjunction with National Tsunami Preparedness Week, Huntington Beach will hold its first Tsunami Walk.
Residents are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at Harbour View Park, at the corner of Saybrook Lane and Heil Avenue, on March 27, and will be escorted to the safe zone at Wieder Park, 16662 Lynn Lane.
The city will also host a Tsunami Fair from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Wieder Park, where residents can learn how to be prepared in case of an emergency.
On Monday, safety officials will test the AlertOC system, which messages or calls people registered in the system information about the location of their nearest evacuation zone.
Residents can visit AlertOC.org to register for emergency updates.
