The Huntington Beach Youth Character Awards will honor youths whose achievements demonstrate a commitment to qualities associated with good character.
The ceremony, sponsored by the local Children’s Needs Task Force and the city, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bella Terra.
The task force encourages local leaders to work with schools, outside agencies and the police to effectively identify the needs of children and develop an approach through which to meet these needs, according to its website.
The group meets at 4 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of every other month in Room B-8 in City Hall, 2000 Main St.
Names of nominees and honorees will be announced at the ceremony.
From the group of nominees, a select number will be inducted into the Huntington Beach Youth Character Wall of Fame. These honorees will be acknowledged at the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. June 3. They will also ride in the Fourth of July Huntington Beach parade.
Nominees must check in at the awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m.
