Police: Woman befriended elderly victim to steal from his safe

Newport Beach police arrested an Anaheim resident Monday on suspicion of burglary at the Crown Cove Senior Living center in Corona del Mar.
Yeni Miranda Salgado, 24, allegedly stole $5,600 from a safe in the room of an elderly male living at the center, according to a police press release.
A police investigation revealed that Salgado had befriended the victim between Oct. 31 and Dec. 22 and offered cleaning services, which gave her access to his room, according to the release.
