A ‘faire’ taste of medieval times
Thurston Middle School seventh-graders got a taste of the medieval times during Renaissance Day on June 17.
Clad in period costumes, the students learned about history hands-on by playing games and sports and experiencing how crimes were punished during the time. They also participated in military drills, chainmail making and wheat weaving.
The day was the culmination of studying the middle ages and Renaissance for the duration of the academic year.
