The Huntington Beach City School District is taking applications to replace former trustee Shirley Carey, who died last month.
Sharon Hojo, the administrative assistant to the superintendent, announced late Tuesday that the district will accept applications until 4 p.m. April 25. Candidates invited for an oral interview will be notified April 29, with the interviews to be conducted at a special public board meeting May 3.
Applications should be delivered to Superintendent’s Office, 20451 Craimer Lane, Huntington Beach, or e-mailed to [email protected]. More information is available at https://www.hbcsd.us.
The board decided April 6 to replace Carey, a trustee since 1990, through a selection process rather than a special election. Carey died March 22 from pneumonia, kidney failure and heart complications.
