BREAKING NEWS: Realty group named highest bidder

Craig Realty Group of Newport Beach has won the auction for the Orange County Fairgrounds, placing a top bid of $56.5 million for the 150-acre property in Costa Mesa.
The live auction on the sale of the fairgrounds took place Thursday morning and lasted less than an hour. Initial bids came from seven prospective buyers.
The initial bids (with dollar amounts listed in parentheses) came in from:
Facilities Management West ($55 million); Craig Realty Group of Newport Beach ($42.5 million); Anaheim Sports Holding ($20 million); Advanced Real Estate Services ($17 million); City of Costa Mesa-Orange County ($6.5 million); Forde and Mollrich of Newport Beach ($2 million); and Tel Phil Enterprises Inc. of Costa Mesa ($1000).
