Brobeck steps down

Dave Brobeck, who has coached the Laguna Beach High boys’ cross-country team for 12 years, announced that he will be stepping down to spend more time with his family.

“Coaching our team for 12 years has brought me some of the best memories of my life,” Brobeck said in an e-mail. “But my own kids are 4 and 6 and, very simply, I don’t want to miss any more moments with them.”

Brobeck guided the Laguna boys to the CIF State Division IV championship this past fall. He has been a part of all three of the program’s state titles, running on the 1989 squad and also coaching the 2004 team.
