A handful of Huntington Beach schools were honored by the business community for their consistent high student academic achievement.
The schools were named 2009 Honor Roll schools by the California Business for Education Excellence in November.
The award was given to about 1,300 public elementary, middle and high schools in the state.
John H. Eader Elementary, Huntington Seacliff Elementary, Dr. Ralph E. Hawes Elementary, Circle View Elementary, Harbour View Elementary, Hope View Elementary, Village View Elementary, S.A. Moffet Elementary, Edison High and Huntington Beach High schools were awarded for 2009.
The honor is given to schools by California’s business community based on high achievement and significant progress toward closing the achievement gap between all students.
