DECATAUR, Ala. — The Lions allowed the most goals in a game for the season, which ended after their loss in the second round of the NAIA Tournament Tuesday.
Vanguard ended the season 13-1-7 after falling to its Golden State Athletic Conference rival, which improved to 13-4-3.
The Lions had allowed nine goals the entire season entering Tuesday’s game.
PLNU went up 4-0 before Vanguard scored in the 60th minute. Karri Currier scored and Gabriela Valles assisted. Goalie Jillian Foss had six saves for the Lions.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Kelsey Wirt had 21 kills for the Lions in their first-round match of pool play at the NAIA Championships Tuesday.
Meghan Walsh added 37 assists, while Jamie Heenan had nine kills for Vanguard (17-13).
The loss forces the Lions into a tough situation. They have to win their two remaining pool-play matches in the next two days. The Lions take on University of Mobile today, before facing Golden State Athletic Conference rival Point Loma Nazarene on Thursday.

SAN DIEGO — Gregory Scott scored 27 points and dished five assists for the Lions in their Golden State Athletic Conference opener Tuesday.
Alex Chapman scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Mitch Boyce added nine points for Vanguard (1-2, 1-0 in conference).

SAN DIEGO — Bridgette Reyes scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the No. 2-ranked Lions in their Golden State Athletic Conference opener Tuesday.
Diana Neves added 19 points, while Molly Pfohl had nine points for Vanguard (4-1, 0-1 in conference).
Amanda Franz scored 23 points to help the No. 4-ranked Sea Lions remain undefeated, 5-0, 1-0.
