UC Irvine senior Kate Berrini, whose career was extended when the Anteaters qualified Sunday for the four-team Big West Conference women’s soccer tournament, has been named Big West Co-Player of the Week.
Berrini scored both goals in a 2-0 nonconference triumph over visiting Gonzaga Sunday. She also had one goal in a 3-0 Big West win over visiting Long Beach State on Thursday.
Berrini has four goals this season.
UCI (12-6-2, 4-3-1 in conference) tied with Cal State Fullerton and Pacific for fourth place. But Coach Scott Juniper’s ’Eaters claimed the final spot in the four-team conference tournament by virtue of a better Big West goal differential than the Titans, and a win over UOP.
