Lois H. (Loudon) Dosta, 84, of
Marblehead, MA formerly of Newport
Beach, CA passed away on Monday,
August 24, 2009 at the Lafayette
Nursing Home in Marblehead. She
was the wife of the late Raymond C.
Dosta. Born in California, she was the
daughter of the late C. Thomas and
Florence (Wilson) Loudon.
She graduated from Hoover High
in Glendale and attended USC.
She majored in journalism and eventually worked at her uncle’s
newspaper in Anaheim, California. She was an active volunteer at
Hoag Memorial Hospital and The Orange County Philharmonic as
well as a member of the DAR chapter in Laguna Hills, California.
She met her husband-to-be on Balboa Island, California in 1942.
They enjoyed almost 60 years together before his death in 2005.
In their years together they were members of Balboa Yacht Club
and could often be seen racing their boat in the harbor or spending
weekends at Catalina Island.
She was the loving mother of two children, son John and daughter
Suzanne and five grandchildren, Brandon, Sean, Maggie, John Jr.
and Elizabeth. She had one great grandchild named Khaia.
The family has planned a private memorial service at sea. Donations
may be made in memory to the charity of your choice. Arrangements
