Students lauded for their excellence

The Rotary Club of Newport-Balboa and the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce honored six students from Corona Del Mar Intermediate School with Character Awards in a ceremony Wednesday at the Newport Beach campus.

The Character Awards are meant to encourage and support good character among local youths. They were selected by teachers, school administrators and parents based on their distinguished attributes.

The six students honored with the Character Awards are: Christopher Beyrooty, seventh grade; Megan Crane, seventh grade; Claudia Noto, seventh grade; Marisa Brower, eighth grade; Michael Martinez, eighth grade; Eman Wosoughkia, eighth grade.
