Newport Beach-based Daddy Cakes will treat Daddies to a free pre-Father’s Day pancake brunch 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 20, at Whole Foods Market at The District at Tustin Legacy. Dan Byers, co-founder and creative chef of Daddy Cakes, will be flipping his now-famous pancakes as he serves Daddies and their families during the event. In addition to Daddy Cakes pancakes, the brunch will include items such as eggs, sausage and bacon, as well as a “pancake topping bar,” and coffee, milk and juices. The cost for the brunch is $5 for all non-Dad guests and all proceeds from the event will benefit a local food bank. Reservations required and can be made by calling 714.566.7650.
“This event marks our second with Whole Foods Market at The District and is just one of the many ways in which we stay in touch with and contribute to the community,” commented Byers. “Daddy Cakes was founded on the American tradition known as the ‘pancake breakfast,’ so this event reminds us of what’s at the core of our concept: family.”
Daddy Cakes, which produces a line of nine flavors of pancake mixes, has grown exponentially over the past year, recently expanding their distribution in Orange County to Whole Foods Market.
“Despite our recent growth as a brand, Daddy Cakes will always be more than just a business, but a means of bringing families together by delivering a quality product with a healthy dose of fun,” continued Byers.
Daddy Cakes serves as a wholesome alternative to the many pancake mixes available on the market by utilizing real fruit, whole grains and organic flour to create a variety of heart-smart flavors.
