FOUNTAIN VALLEY — A pair of Barons’ errors allowed the visiting Sailors to tie it in the seventh inning and win the Sunset League game in the eighth Thursday.
A two-out throwing error allowed Cody Green, who had doubled, to erase a 2-1 deficit in the seventh.
In the eighth, Alex Rios reached on a throwing error and later scored on Kyle Cablay’s RBI single up the middle.
Pitchers Scott Ward and Nick Vlahakis combined to hold the Barons to six hits.
Green had two hits to pace Newport’s six-hit attack.
The Tars are 3-7, 2-3 in league.

COSTA MESA — Estancia, the designated visitor on its own field, led, 2-1, after 4 1/2 innings, but Calvary scored two in the fifth and five in the sixth to pull away in the Orange Coast League game Thursday.
Gavin Montague and Matt Calye each drove in a run for Estancia.

SANTA ANA — Sophomore Kira Mitani struck out 10 and did not issue a walk in her two-hitter for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Thursday.
Mitani faced three above the minimum. She was also excellent at the plate, going two for three. She produced a two-out RBI in the third inning.
Sophomore Alex Krohnfeldt also had a two-out RBI in the third for Costa Mesa (10-9, 1-1 in league), while sophomores Sami Feinstein, Alosina Skipps and Tamy Cerrato added one hit each.
The Mustangs do not play again until April 16 in the Whittier Christian Tournament.

COSTA MESA — After junior James Stucker was second in the pole vault, the Mustangs edged the Eagles in the Orange Coast League meet Thursday at Estancia High.
Senior Duke Yasuda won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, as well as the long jump, for Costa Mesa (4-0, 3-0 in league). Senior Thomas Guzowski was also a double winner in the shot put and discus.
The Mustangs face Laguna Beach in their final league dual meet on April 29.

NEWPORT BEACH — Jake Dawson won the 1,600 meters in 4 minutes, 35 seconds and the 3,200 in 9:46.2 to pace the host Sailors in the Sunset League meet Thursday.
Joel Betonte won the 400 in 52.0 and the long jump (20 feet, 3 inches) and Benny Ward swept the hurdles. His 110 high hurdles time was 17.4 and he went 44.0 in the 300 intermediate hurdles.
Cecil Whiteside won the discus (180-8) and the shot put (52-11 1/2 ), while Justin Adams won the high jump (5-9) and the triple jump (39-6 1/2 ).
The Sailors are 2-1 in league.

CORONA DEL MAR — The Sea Kings’ Blaine Bolus won three events and ran the anchor leg in the victorious 1,600-meter relay in the Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.
Bolus on won the long jump (21 feet, 11 1/2 inches), triple jump (44-7 1/2 ) and high jump (6-5).
Sebastien Welch also won three events and remained undefeated in dual meets, winning the 800 in 2:02.6, 1,600 in 4:51.9 and 3,200 in 10:12.4. Brent Gray won the 100 in 11.1 and 200 in 22.9, and ran the anchor in the victorious 400 relay.

COSTA MESA — Senior Teagan LaBare won the 100 meters in 12.8 seconds, and also won the 200 as the Mustangs eased past the Eagles Thursday at Estancia High.
LaBare was also part of the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams for the Mustangs, as was senior Ally Krikorian, who also won the 400.
Sophomore Hunter Strodel won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 for Mesa, and junior Tatiana Williams won the triple jump and long jump and was second in the high jump.
The Mustangs (4-0, 3-0 in league), three-time defending league champions, have their final league dual meet against Laguna Beach on April 29.

NEWPORT BEACH — Kirby Burnham won the 100-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles and was second in the high jump and third in the long jump to pace the host Sailors in the Sunset League meet Thursday.
Burnham led a Harbor hurdles sweep with times of 17.3 seconds and 50.9, respectively.
Erica Pearson won the 1,600 in 5 minutes, 20 seconds, was second to teammate Desiree Alexander in the 3,200 and was second in the 800.
Melissa Hancock won the high jump (5 foot, 1 inch), Tawnya Cursman won the pole vault (9-6), and Katey Thompson was second in the discus (92-2 1/2 , a 10-foot improvement).
The Tars are 2-0-1 in league.

CORONA DEL MAR — Claire Schmidt, Kim Condino and Kayla Marolt won two events each for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.
Schmidt and Condino were also on winning relay teams.
Schmidt won the 200 meters (26.5) and 400 in 1:00.6, Condino the 800 in 2:24.9 and 1,600 in 5:18.5, and Marolt in the long jump (15-8) and high jump (5-2).
Some of the CdM athletes will compete in the Trabuco Hills Invitational Saturday.

NEWPORT BEACH — Sophomore Cody Caldwell had 26 kills to pace the host Sailors, who won, 25-15, 25-13, 25-27, 22-25, 15-10, in the Sunset League match Thursday.
Richard de St. Jean had 15 kills and JB Green added 13 for the winners (13-6, 2-0 in league).
Jackson Carmack had 24 assists and Darren Leggett had 22. Both had eight digs.
Conner Curry had 16 digs for the Tars, ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division I. Marina is 1-1 in league.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Newport Harbor 13,

NEWPORT BEACH — Daron Arnold and Cameron Chase swept at No. 1 doubles to pace the host Sailors in the Sunset League match Thursday.
Arnold and Chase won 18 of 20 games and are now 9-0 in league.
Craig McKennon and Greg Brostek swept at No. 3 doubles, 6-0, 6-4, 6-3, while Erik Heimstaedt and Daniel Lee won two sets each at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
Newport Harbor improved to 6-3, 3-0 in league.

COSTA MESA — Elizabeth Cramer had seven goals and one assist to lead the Sailors Thursday at the Harper Community Center.
Sierra Michaelsen had two goals and one assist and Nikki Perrier added strong defense for the winners (7-3).
Sally Mace and Hayden Furey each had four goals for the Lightning (3-5).

NEWPORT BEACH — Zach Eddy shot one-under-par 35 to earn medalist honors for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club Thursday.
Travis Russell (38), Marcus Kiel (39), Ericson Klein (41) and Mychael Clark (43) also contributed for Newport Harbor (9-3-1, 2-1 in league).

COSTA MESA — Camden Nicholson shot even-par 37 to earn medalist honors in the Pacific Coast League match at the Los Lagos Course at Costa Mesa Country Club Thursday.
Brian Mull, John Davenport and Jonathan Keedy all shot 38, while Josh Starnes carded a 40 for CdM (10-1, 4-0 in league).
