Sea Kings’ Donovan, Gallian make first team

Corona del Mar High senior guard Sean Donovan and senior center Steven Gallian were selected to the first-team, All-Pacific Coast League in boys’ basketball after the Sea Kings finished tied for second place in league play.
Donovan led all local players with a 20 points per game average. He averaged six rebounds and four assists per game, helping the Sea Kings (13-14, 5-3 in league) reach the CIF Southern Section Division III-A playoffs for the third time under Coach Ryan Schachter.
Schachter said Gallian, who contributed 10 points and nine rebounds per game, is going to play next year at Maryville University, a NCAA Division II program in St. Louis, Mo.
Sophomore guard Danny Cheek made the second team.
Cheek, a transfer from Mater Dei, averaged 13 points, five rebounds and two steals per game.
Christian Scott of University was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Year.
