Artists invited to pick up their palettes

The Laguna Beach Arts Commission is planning to “retire” 86 artist-painted holiday palettes that are too worn to be used during the holiday season. That will leave 200 palettes in the city’s collection.

Artists or their families are invited to pick up their palettes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 28 and April 11 at the Corporate Yard, 1900 Laguna Canyon Road.

The life expectancy of the palettes is between 10 and 15 years, although some have been damaged by vehicles while others have been weathered, causing the plywood to deteriorate and split, according to a city press statement.
