Harman appointed to conservation committee

Sen. Tom Harman has been appointed to the Select Committees on Delta Sustainability and Stewardship and the newly created Select Committee on Delta Conservation, Conveyance and Governance, his office announced Wednesday.

The Select Committee on Delta Sustainability will look into ways to address the ever-increasing water needs of Californians while striking a balance with protecting the Delta. Harman will join seven others toward that goal.

Harman said in a prepared statement that politicians should put their differences aside for this dire issue as California endures its third straight year of drought, and will work to do so as part of the newly formed committee on conservation. There are nine members on that committee.
