RANCHO CUCAMONGA — All six Newport Harbor High wrestlers were eliminated in the Inland Division Friday at Los Osos High.
Senior Cameron Rausch, the Sunset League champion at the heavyweight division, went 0-2, losing to top-seeded Wyatt Baker from Servite in the first round, 9-4. Rausch led, 3-0, after two periods.
Senior Eric Nordstrom (160-pound division) went 2-2. Junior Nathan Dickey (152), sophomore Ryan Cerrato (130), sophomore Bradley Beaudette (189) and junior John Leyva (171) each finished 1-2 in the tournament.
Dickey’s second loss came in overtime. Had he won he would’ve advanced to Saturday’s action.
Newport Harbor Coach Dominic Bulone said Rausch entered the bracket unseeded because he wasn’t able to wrestle enough matches during the regular season due to injury.
Rausch lost his second match, 3-2.
