The CIF Southern Section playoffs in girls’ soccer, boys’ soccer and girls’ water polo continue today and Friday.

Girls’ Soccer
Huntington Beach, Marina and Ocean View will play first-round games today. All games begin at 3 p.m.
Huntington earned a first round Division I date today with Los Alamitos after the Oilers defeated Tesoro in overtime Tuesday, 2-1, in a wild-card game at Edison High. Courtney Larson scored the game-winning goal to extend the Oilers’ season. Callie Payetta scored the first Huntington goal off a pass from Elise Nordin.
Huntington is the No. 3 team from the Sea View League; fourth-ranked Los Alamitos won the Sunset League.
Also in Division I action today, Marina, the No. 3 team from the Sunset League, will play at Bay League champion Mira Costa. The Vikings are 10-8-6 overall; the Mustangs are 18-2-2.
Ocean View, runner-up to the Golden West League title, opens Division V play today at home. The Seahawks (11-3-6) host Garden Grove League runner-up Rancho Alamitos (16-4-2).
Quarterfinal round matches in girls’ soccer will be played Tuesday.

Boys’ Soccer
Fountain Valley, an at-large entry from the Sunset League, played a Division I wild-card game Wednesday at Capistrano Valley (South Coast League at-large). The score wasn’t available at press time. The winner of Wednesday’s match advances to face Moore League champ Long Beach Millikan in a first-round match at 3 p.m. Friday.
Second-round games will be played Wednesday.

Girls’ Water Polo
Huntington Beach got past the wild-card round of the Division I playoffs Tuesday by downing visiting JSerra, 8-2. Leah Trella, Alexis D’Asaro and Alyssa Katreeb all scored twice for the Oilers.
Huntington, which finished third in the Sea View League, hosts second-ranked Dos Pueblos at 3:15 p.m. today. The Chargers won the Division II title a year ago. Two other local teams had their seasons come to an end Tuesday.
Edison, the No. 6-ranked team in Division I and the third-place team in the Sunset League, was upended by host Santa Barbara, 7-1. The 10th-ranked Dons finished second in the Channel League behind Dos Pueblos.
Fountain Valley, an at-large entry from the Sunset League, was edged by Pacific Coast League runner-up Irvine, 7-5.

Wrestling
Sunset League champion Fountain Valley saw its dual meet season come to a close Saturday in the first round of the CIF-SS Division I dual meet wrestling championships at Los Alamitos High. The Barons dropped their opening dual to Century League runner-up El Dorado, 51-19. Sultana, the No. 1 team from the Mojave River League, went on to win the division title.
