H. Hendy Associates Completes Interior Redesign

Newport Beach, Calif. – February 17, 2009 – H. Hendy Associates (HHA), one of the nation’s leading architectural design firms, has completed an interior workspace redesign project for KMJ | Corbin & Co., one of the region’s leading multidisciplinary accounting, audit and tax firms.

The company, which has experienced a tremendous period of growth over the past two years, turned to H. Hendy Associates redesign its 14,876-square-foot regional office in Costa Mesa to unify employees, improve communication between workgroups, and accommodate future growth. H. Hendy managed all aspects of the renovation from space planning to furniture procurement.

A goal of KMJ’s new open plan environment was to allow for effortless collaboration between the tax department and the audit department. Knowing the long hours KMJ employees clock during tax season, H. Hendy integrated aesthetic and functional elements to cultivate a more inviting atmosphere. Some features of the new space include:

An Excel spreadsheet-inspired asymmetrical ceiling linking the reception area with the glass-enclosed conference room;

A double-level island in the modern break room to give KMJ’s 45-person staff a place to connect with other staff and participate in impromptu meetings;

A training room outfitted with sliding doors that can be opened up for multiple uses.
