Mesa seeks outright title
The Costa Mesa High girls’ soccer team can clinch the outright Orange Coast League title with a win or a tie against visiting Laguna Beach tonight at 6 at Estancia High.
The Mustangs (10-5-7, 5-0-2 in league) have six points in the league standings (one point for a win and one-half point for a tie). Estancia with five points, would need to beat Calvary Chapel and hope Costa Mesa loses to gain a share of the title with Mesa.
In that case, a coin flip would decide the league’s No. 1 playoff representative.
