Sage Hill’s Conlogue settles for third again

NORTH NARRABEEN, Australia — For the second straight year, Courtney Conlogue, a junior at Sage Hill School, finished third after being eliminated in the semifinals of the Assn. of Surfing Professionals World Junior Championships Tuesday.

In the semifinals, Conlogue lost to France’s Pauline Ado, who went on to capture the women’s title after beating Bethany Hamilton in the final.

Conlogue, who won the 2008 Governor’s Cup at the National Scholastic Surfing Assn. national championships, defeated Paige Hareb of New Zealand in the quarterfinals. Last year, Hareb beat Conlogue in the semifinals.
