PET OF THE WEEK

SIMBA

Simba’s beauty and his distinct wild call draw a crowd similar to a sleek race car or Kobe Bryant when he is shopping at Fashion Island, according to his caretakers at the Community Animal Network.

The 2-year-old, neutered, purebred Bengal has not found his perfect match, though. Those who know the Bengal breed know they can typically cost more than $1,500. Bengals are a domestic cat bred with an Asian leopard and have a distinct “wild” look and spotted rosette patterns.

His caretakers say he has a “super personality,” but needed a new home because his prior family was away from home too often.

Many families have shown interest, but so far none can devote the required time to look after him.

Meet Simba and other cats and kittens from noon to 4 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday at the network’s Fashion Island pet adoption events.

The almost-blind yellow Lab named Maggie and the black Lab named Mickey need help with their veterinary costs. You can help by mailing your check to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658 and memo your check nonprofit tax ID 33-0971560.
