NEWPORT BEACH — Sophomore Alex Morton had 18 points and juniors Katey Thompson and Lindsay Anderson combined for 16 fourth-quarter points to help the host Sailors erase a 34-30 deficit after three periods in the nonleague season opener Monday.

Thompson scored all nine of her points in the final period, when Anderson netted seven of her nine. Corinne Schnieders also had nine for the winners.
