‘Eaters seeking two wins to boost NCAA chances

The UC Irvine women’s volleyball team can clinch second place in the Big West Conference and greatly bolster its chances for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament with a pair of home wins over UC Santa Barbara (tonight) and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (Saturday).
Both matches are at 7 at Crawford Court.
UCI (15-12, 10-4 in conference) enters tonight tied with Cal Poly for second, two games behind Long Beach State.
UCI Coach Charlie Brande, who will step down after this season, will be honored before tonight’s match.
UCI seniors Lauren Kellerman, Devon Sutherland and Shannan Homan will be recognized before Saturday’s contest.
