I was shocked the Daily Pilot did not endorse Keith Curry.
The city hall issue you mentioned was strongly debated at the council level, appropriable so since it involved campaign promises and the adopt- ed general plan update voter approval changes. Also, his lively discussions with then-Mayor Steve Rosansky had more to do with Rosansky’s inappropriately not supporting the council majority that appointed him.
Councilman Curry has done more for Newport Beach in the short time he has been on the council than anyone else, and he deserves our vote. His knowledge and generosity toward the public is unsurpassed.
It appears the Pilot continued to run more pictures of its endorsed candidates on the front page than other candidates.
Why would you do this? This is the first time I feel betrayed by the Pilot.
Perhaps you should consider using a few new advisors on your think tank advisory board.

Rohrabacher doesn’t represent me
I am a registered Republican and concerned citizen living in Belmont Shore. Now 86, I have been a registered Republican for 66 years. Some years ago we were represented in the 46th Congressional District by our great Republican Congressman Steve Horn.
The sly party leaders in Sacramento gerrymandered our 46th District in a manner to replace Horn with Dana Rohrabacher, who they felt was more closely in tune with their Sacramento political vision.
I have tried to relate to 10-term Rohrabacher as my representative but find him less acceptable as my congressman for the following reasons:
1) As a Republican I receive many mailings from Dana and find the material consisting more of PR from a promoter rather than factual political information from a statesman;
2) Dana’s explanations regarding matters of congressional negotiations lack the intellectual matter of fact explanations in the mailings we received from Horn;
3) All of Dana’s campaign priorities seem to concentrate on “fear” and “security” rather than the issues that affect we average citizens. Because he has never served in the military, he seems to lack the knowledge that the military, not politicians, is responsible for the nation’s security.
As a World War II Navy Corsair fighter pilot and retiring after 22 years of service, I came to believe the Navy was responsible for America’s security, not politicians. No doubt Rohrabacher’s concentration on fear and security in his campaigns is a proven method to garnish votes from uninformed voters;
4) Unlike Horn, who associated with the distinguished statesman in Washington, Rohrabacher over recent years seems attracted to questionable associations like the congressman from San Diego Randy “Duke” Cunningham, now in jail for corruption; Jack Abramoff, the powerful K Street lobbyist also in jail; and the disgraced Texas congressman Tom DeLay.
I went to the Internet and typed in the name of Rohrabacher’s opponent in this election, Debbie Cook. I am impressed with Cook’s many accomplishments serving the public. I believe every voter should Google Cook rather than just read the campaign literature from both candidates before voting Nov. 4.
