Visit the Wells Fargo Bank in Laguna Beach now through November 26th to find out who the jury selected as this summer’s top 21 Festival of Arts exhibitors out of the 154 participants in the 2008 show. The works on display feature the top painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers, ceramicists and mixed media artists from the 2008 Festival of Arts. This free exhibit gives you another chance to see the artists’ works you enjoyed viewing during the summer season at the Festival of Arts.
Each year eight jurors assemble, review the artist submissions and select the artists for the art show. The jurors score submitted artwork based on quality, intention and content; excellence of craftsmanship; facility with media; excellence in the use of design elements; and professional presentation. Those interested in being part of the 2009 exhibit should visit the Festival of Arts website at www.lagunafestivalofarts.org after November 3rd.
The exhibit’s curator Pat Sparkuhl commented, “The current exhibit illustrates an exciting range of quality artwork that the jurors chose from a field of 154 artists who were on exhibit this past summer. From small, hot colored ceramic forms, exquisite oil painting, undulating large scale metal sculpture, cutting edge photography, to delicately arranged mixed media decorative work, it’s all there, and more.”
The artists include, Ken Auster (oils), Sandra Jones Campbell (mixed media), Anne England (printmaking), Rick Graves (photography), Dirk Hagner (printmaking), Robert Hansen (photography), Regina Jacobson (oils), Tom Lamb (photography), Carolyn Machado (mixed media), Mia Moore (mixed media), Andrew Myers (sculpture), Greg Riley (ceramics), Breck Rothage (photography), Fred Stodder (ceramics), Jon Seeman (sculpture), Pat Sparkuhl (mixed media), Gregg Stone (mixed media), Tom Swimm (oils), Ralph Tarzian (sculpture), John Taylor (sculpture) and Vinita Voogd (printmaking).
