Pro skaters to visit opening of adidas store

An adidas “Originals” store opening today at South Coast Plaza will celebrate its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday with professional skaters on hand to visit with fans.

Professional skaters Jake Brown and Rob Gonzales will sign autographs and hang out as the L.A.-based art collective “Heavy Weight,” (a.k.a. “HVW8”) paints a mural made up of 20 skate top decks inspired by the Orange County skate scene. The 2,000-square-foot store is in the Crate & Barrel wing on Level 3.

Brown and Gonzales will sign the decks. When the mural is taken apart Saturday, about 20 of the skate decks will be raffled off.
