Police seek 3 bar-hopping suspects wanted for fights

Police are looking for three men who went on an alcohol-fueled rampage Monday night, starting fights at two bars on Newport Boulevard before fleeing when police were called, officials said.

It all started at Czeckers Bar, 1562 Newport Blvd. in Costa Mesa, where the three men, described as in their early 20s, were knocking back drinks. The men fought another man and took the victim’s wallet before fleeing in their vehicle, said Sgt. Bryan Glass.

Half an hour later, about 12:30 a.m. Monday, police received a call about a bar fight at Tony’s Place, 2052 Newport Blvd. Police said the same three men from Czeckers Bar went to Tony’s Place and continued to drink and fight. There, they got into a confrontation with another man and someone hit that man with a chair, police said.

Everyone involved, including the victim, left before police arrived at Tony’s Place, Glass said.
