MAILBAG:

On Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 2000 Main St. the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on The Village at Bella Terra development proposal. The project proposes to change Huntington Beach’s General Plan and zoning for the vacant Montgomery Ward site to allow 538 to 713 high-rise residential units.

Huntington Beach Tomorrow wants citizens to know that the project environmental impact report states there will be significant and unavoidable traffic problems on streets north of Warner Avenue, east of Goldenwest Street and on the 405 Freeway for decades to come with this proposed development. View the details of the report at surfcity-hb.org/ government/departments/planning/ major/btvillage.cfm.

If you don’t want to experience traffic delays and congestion every day for the next 20 years you can tell the Planning Commission so by e-mailing the lead agency contact at [email protected]. Huntington Beach Tomorrow suggests you tell them you want development that does not negatively impact the citizens of Huntington Beach.

Rohrabacher’s bailout logic is backward

I disagree with Dana Rohrabacher’s vote on the first bailout.

I think Obama had the proper solution for this mess we are in when he said, “When your house is on fire you put it out and then find the cause.” The people like the congressman want to fix it first while the house (the United States) burns down.
