A Laguna Beach High summer cross-country training camp for returning players and incoming freshmen gets underway Monday.
The camp, which offers training for the fall CIF Southern Section season, runs through Aug. 29.
Coach Dave Brobeck said a runner’s commitment to attending the camp practices will have a “direct impact” on how well a runner does in upcoming races. He said he will make all practices “fun and productive.”
Practices start at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday through Aug. 29. Each Monday and Wednesday practice session will take place at El Morro School, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Laguna Beach High track and Fridays at Alta Laguna Park.
Brobeck said a new feature to this summer’s program are Tuesday evening yoga classes at the high school “” which are designed to add strength and flexibility conditioning “” and Thursday evening weight training sessions. These sessions begin at 5 p.m.
A summer cross-country training camp for girls, run by Laguna Beach High girls’ coach Steve Lalim, begins July 21.
