Explosives discovered in arrestee’s home

The Orange County Sheriff’s bomb squad was sent to a Costa Mesa house Wednesday night, after sheriffs and Huntington Beach police looking for a man there found explosives inside the home, police said.

Orange County sheriffs and Huntington Beach police arrested 44-year-old Ronald Turner at a home in the 200 block of Magnolia Street at about 6:45 p.m., according to the sheriff’s department. He was wanted for disobeying a 2007 court order regarding domestic issues, records show.

While inside the home, authorities found explosives and called in the bomb squad, who detonated the devices, Huntington Beach police said. Costa Mesa police secured the area and sheriffs and Huntington Beach police made the arrest, said Costa Mesa Sgt. Bryan Glass.
