KENNEDY

Robert W. Kennedy, 85 of Marietta, GA, formerly of Newport Beach, CA, passed away peacefully May 24, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annabelle Burton Kennedy; son Robert W. Kennedy Jr. and daughter-in-law Janet of Marietta; son Michael Kennedy of Cherry Log, GA.; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Born in Norwalk, Ohio, Bob graduated from Vermilion High School and attended Ohio University before entering the Army Air Force during WWII. 1st Lt. Kennedy’s actions as a Lead Bombadier over occupied Europe earned him a number of air medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and an Oak Leaf Cluster. He worked for General Electric for 37 years as a Regional Sales Manager in Cincinnati, Houston and Los Angeles. Bob was an avid tennis player and golfer. He and his wife moved to Marietta in September, 2007. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 11:00 a.m. at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta (770) 424-4924.
