CdM’s Molnar earns top league honor in lacrosse

Corona del Mar High junior midfielder Noah Molnar earned the Player of the Year honor after leading the boys’ lacrosse team to an 8-0 undefeated Pacific Coast League championship.
Molnar led the Sea Kings with 58 goals and was second on the team in face-offs win percentage (75), third in assists (22) and fourth in groundballs (104).
Molnar is joined by six teammates making the first team and one second team. All were key contributors to CdM (16-4), ranked No. 7 in the final laxpower.com state rankings, advancing to the semifinals of the Orange County Championship tournament.
The other first-team selections were senior attacker Mike Kidushim, sophomore attacker Ryan Mix, senior midfielder Connor Pinkston, junior goalie Andrew Noto, and senior defensemen Kevin Kottke and Nick Taylor. Junior attacker Dave Kidushim made the second team.
Mike Kidushim was second on the team with 46 goals and 32 assists. Mix had a team-best 43 assists to go with 31 goals. Pinkston led the team with 176 groundballs and won 78% of his face-offs.
The defense was solid with Noto in front of the cage and Kottke and Taylor. Noto made 129 saves and Kottke finished with 126 groundballs and Taylor had 109, helping CdM record three shutouts and hold 10 opponents to four goals or less.
Dave Kidushim scored 50 goals and added 10 assists.
