Sailors aim to stay perfect in Sunset

The Newport Harbor High boys’ volleyball team has one more match before heading to the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions on Friday.

The Sailors, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, open the second half of league play when they play host to Esperanza today at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Newport Harbor (17-3, 5-0 in league), led by UCLA-bound senior setter Kyle Caldwell and USC-bound outside hitter Tucker Peleuses, swept Esperanza (1-4 in league) in its Sunset League opener on April 1. The Aztecs have suffered all four of their league matches via sweep.
