Bank robber escapes with cash

A robber who told a teller he had a concealed bomb under his jacket fled the Bank of America on Ocean Ave. Friday just before 6 p.m. with several thousand dollars in cash, according to Laguna Beach police records.
The suspect, a man described as in his sixties and with a bandage on his lower chin, fled on food. No weapon was seen. The suspect was wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses, according to witness accounts.
No injuries were reported. The FBI bank robbery detail was called in on the case.
