The fourth annual OC Marathon weekend starts with the Health and Fitness Expo Friday and Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
The event is free to the public. Approximately 100 companies will display and sample products, while a full slate of speakers will provide helpful training and nutrition tips.
Bill Sumner, the race director of the OC Marathon and longtime Corona del Mar High cross country and track coach, is scheduled to speak on both days. The event will also be highlighted by guest appearances by four-time Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon winner Bill Rodgers and Greg Meyer, the last American to win the Boston Marathon.
Friday’s seminars are from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday’s is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Expo provides an opportunity for runners and walkers of all skill levels and experience to learn more about the sport and the latest developments in training and nutrition. In addition, participants in Sunday’s OC Marathon and its related events can pick up their packets for race day.
The Hyatt Regency is located at 17900 Jamboree Road in Irvine. The phone number there is (949) 975-1234.
