Newport Boulevard will close for investigation

Newport Beach police will shut down portions of Newport Boulevard, or limit it to one lane, Tuesday to conduct a traffic investigation.
An injury traffic collision that occurred Nov. 11 is the cause of the “total station” survey of the intersection at Newport Boulevard and Hospital Road from noon to 3 p.m.
Affected areas are:
• Southbound Newport Boulevard will be closed between Industrial Avenue and Hospital Road.
• Northbound Newport Boulevard will be reduced to one lane just before and after Hospital Road.
• West and eastbound Hospital Road at Newport Boulevard will be restricted to right turns only.
Police encourage drivers to use Dover Drive, and Superior and Placentia avenues as alternative routs for south- and northbound traffic and to use Industrial Avenue, Coast Highway and 17th Street for west- and eastbound travelers.
