Rats rack up early goals to secure win

The Rink Rats scored nine goals over the first two periods and rolled on to a 9-5 victory over the H.B. Psychos in a Norris Division match at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
The Rink Rats took a 4-2 lead after the first period then outscored the Psychos 5-1 in the second period, to take a 9-3 lead into the final period.
Patrick Standel led the Rink Rats in scoring with four goals. Garrett Felix and Trent Sievers each scored twice, and Cole Pavlik had one goal.
Felix and Christopher Ramirez each had two assists, and Pavlik and Kaden Bruner each had one assist.
Corey Childers had 18 saves.
Cole Kennedy scored three goals and two assists to lead the Psychos.
The Rink Rats had opened the new season with an 8-5 win over the Mad Dogs. Ismael Ralsten scored a hat trick, and Standel added two goals and an assist.
Jake Gealy scored twice and had an assist, and Tyler Gealy recorded 27 saves for the Mad Dogs.
The Rink Rats also defeated the Snipers, overcoming a 4-1 second-period deficit to pull out a 6-5 victory.
Sievers scored a hat trick, Standel had two goals and two assists, and Pavlik had a goal and three assists.
Defensively, Colin Douglass had two key defensive plays in the third period, and Childers finished with 24 saves.
In other Norris Division action:
Puckhogs 7, Mad Dogs 5
The Puckhogs led from start to finish to defeat the Mad Dogs.
Amanda Vongries led the scoring with three goals, and Matthew Legrand, Tyler Donelson, Chris Hernandez and Chris Chen all scored once.
Hernandez and Dylan Reightley each had a pair of assists, and Chen and Julia Wong each had one assist.
Jake Gealy had two goals and an assist to lead the Mad Dogs on offense. Presley Merrick scored once with an assist and Connor Karns scored once.
John Keegan had an assist, and Tyler Gealy had 24 saves.
Young Guns 6, Snipers 2
The Young Guns opened up a 5-0 lead and went on to a four-goal win over the Snipers.
Matthew Manning scored twice and also assisted two scores, and Jeremy Williams also scored twice.
Single goals went to Ryan Beardshear and Charley Lowe, and Keanu Maunula had an assist.
Joseph Loya scored both goals for the Snipers, and Preston Yamasaki picked up an assist.
