Final Sluggers baseball camp begins Monday
The Huntington Beach-based Sluggers Summer Baseball Camps will hold its final camp session beginning Monday at Ocean View High.
The camp is open to youths ages 8 to 12 and will focus on all aspects of baseball, combining team fundamentals and individualized position instruction. It runs through Aug. 30.
The cost per camper is $225 for the session.
All players should wear proper baseball attire, bring water and a sack lunch.
Ocean View High is at the corner of Warner Avenue and Gothard Street.

Prep football practices underway, openers near
Local prep football teams have begun preparation for the 2007 season by holding two-a-day practice sessions this week on four campuses in Huntington Beach.
Edison and Huntington Beach open up their respective seasons on Aug. 31, the Chargers by hosting Diamond Ranch at Huntington Beach High, the Oilers, by playing at Long Beach Millikan.
Both games start at 7 p.m.
Marina and Ocean View launch their seasons on the night of Sept. 7.
The Vikings travel to south Orange County to battle host Capistrano Valley while the Seahawks open their home stand, hosting Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana.
Both games kick off at 7 p.m.
