The McFadden Square Centennial Legacy Project is another step closer to its goal with the Newport Beach Central Library displaying sculptural models of the final four designs for the project’s centerpiece.
The City Arts Commission’s public arts committee reviewed submissions from around the world, selecting artists David Davis of Newport Beach, Hank Kaminsky of Fayetteville, Ark., Roger Stoller of Portola Valley and John Christensen of Austin, Texas, for the final round of competition.
The public is invited to view the models through Sept. 14 at the library, 1000 Avocado Ave.
The project was initiated last year as part of the city’s centennial celebration and will be installed near the Newport Pier.
For more information or to make a donation to the project, call Jana Barbier, the city’s cultural arts coordinator, at (949) 717-3870.
