The Baldwin Group, a Newport Beach company providing training, coaching and consulting services to businesses, will host a wine and cheese summer social from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday to benefit homeless children at the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter in Costa Mesa.
The event will be held at the University Club on the UC Irvine campus, 801 E. Peltason Drive.
There are 40 children living at the shelter who will need items for school when they return to class in the fall, and guests are being asked to bring supplies for the kids as their “admission ticket.”
Laura Miller, the shelter’s director, said being able to outfit the children with “backpacks full of school supplies” to take with them on their first day of school is “very important to their self-esteem and school success.”
To attend the event, call Jan Slater at (949) 233-3060 or e-mail [email protected].
