Edith Eva Muller-Stach

March 5, 1935 – July 5, 2007

Edith Muller-Stach, of Newport Beach, our beloved mother and wife, passed away peacefully at Hoag Hospital on July 5, 2007 at the age of 72. Her greatest joy and passion in life came from making a good home for her children and family and giving back to the community by volunteering tirelessly for Junior All American Football.

Edith was born on March, 5, 1935 in Illertissen, Germany to Elisabeth and Franz Brandl, an attorney. She loved the arts, music, dance, stamp collecting and antique furniture. In 1956 she earned a degree in Graphic Design from the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. She married her husband, Dieter, in 1962 and moved to Africa from 1963-68 where Dieter taught at the Univ of Ghana in Kumasi. She shared a deep interest in studying the arts, crafts and religious traditions of the Ashanti kingdom and loved traveling through the Savannah of West Africa and Italy.

Following her husband so he could teach at CSULB, she came to America in 1969 where she raised her family in the Port Streets of Newport Beach. She was always there to support her kids and build a good home of warmth and love. Edith was involved with Junior All American Football from 1977-1997 and became the Orange County Athletic Director. She tireless and selflessly dedicated herself to better youth football and served with integrity and principle.

In her later years she demonstrated amazing strength and courage in spite of terrible health ailments and remained positive still managing to smile and laugh. Edith is gone but will never be forgotten as her spirit lives on with us and we find comfort knowing that she is at peace and in a better place with the Lord. She is survived by her husband Dieter, her daughter Claudia and her son Markus; and sister and brother, Irene and Kurt, in Germany.
