Some clubs hold “demotion parties” while others hold “transition parties” to honor the outgoing president and install the incoming president. At both parties, the outgoing president gets roasted and toasted as well as recognized for their year of service. The Costa Mesa club meets at noon Tuesday at the Marriott Suites.

At the Rotary Club of Costa Mesa, Banker Larry Thomas will continue as president for a second year. Among those serving with Thomas are Don Gregg, president elect; and Joan Archibald, secretary-treasurer.
