COSTA MESA — The Eagles extended their league winning streak to 43 matches in the Orange Coast League affair at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club Monday.

The medalist on the Mesa Linda course came from Ocean View, but Andrew Ayala (two-over-par 37), Ryan Knapp (39), Pat Flannery (39), Storm Hagen (40) and Kyle Jones (41) scored for the Eagles (16-4, 11-0 in league).

Estancia, which hasn’t lost a league match the last five seasons, has already clinched the league title and can cap an unbeaten league campaign with a win over Costa Mesa Thursday.

Irvine 214, Corona del Mar 223

IRVINE — The Sea Kings’ Taylor Keddington, Josh Starnes and Camden Nicholson each shot four-over-par 40, the second-best score in the Pacific Coast League match at Oak Creek Golf Course Monday.

Chasen Bombola shot 49 and Alex Ludlow 54 for the Sea Kings, who have to win Thursday’s league match against University to advance to the CIF Southern Section Southern Divisional team event.

CdM (7-13, 3-4 in league), which went into Monday in third place in league, will close out the regular season by playing host to University at Newport Beach County Club at 2:30 p.m.

The top three teams in league receive postseason berths.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Newport Harbor 10, Marina 8

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Juniors McKenna Duley and Taylor Friend earned a 7-6 win (9-7 in the tiebreaker) in the final round to help the Sailors rally for a Sunset League triumph Monday on the Vikings’ courts.

The Sailors (7-6, 5-3 in league) were behind, 7-4, at one point.

Jake Fleming won two sets at No. 3 singles for the Sailors, before his substitute, Michael Gracia, made it a sweep.

Singles -- Tuz (NH) lost to Radle, 3-6, def. Rorick, 6-2, def. Shinn, 6-1; Arnold (NH) lost, 3-6, won, 6-4, won, 6-0; Fleming (NH) won, 6-1, 6-0, (sub) Gracia (NH) won, 6-4.

Doubles -- Curry-Chase (NH) lost to Lebas-Rodriguez, 3-6, def. Aharonian-Moss, 6-1, lost to Nguyen-Lappin, 4-6; Duley-Friend (NH), won, 7-6 (9-7), lost, 1-6, won, 6-1; McKennon-Cordiero (NH) lost, 1-6, 0-6, 5-7.

BASEBALL

Sage Hill 9, Brethren Christian 4

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Doug McAfee went three for four with a home run and two RBIs for the Lightning in the Academy League game Monday.

Tom Multari went for three for three with five RBIs for Sage Hill (7-8, 5-4 in league). Alex Jimenez (3-2) earned the victory, striking out five in four scoreless innings of relief.
