Orange Coast 15, Saddleback 6MISSION VIEJO — The Pirates scored 11 runs in the last two innings to overcome a 6-4 deficit in their Orange Empire Conference victory Tuesday.

Nick Rotkowitz led Orange Coast (19-19, 9-7 in conference) with three hits and two RBIs. Eric Oliver contributed two hits and five RBIs, including a three-run home run in the ninth inning. Wes Kartch and Chris Lum added two hits and two RBIs each to send the Gauchos to 20-14, 7-9.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Orange Empire Conference ChampionshipsCOSTA MESA — Orange Coast College’s Heather Morton upset No. 6 seed Tiffany Cheng of Fullerton, 6-1, 6-3, in the second round to highlight the first day of action Tuesday at OCCC.

Evelyn Wallace and Jaleh Mazaheri in singles, as well as the doubles team of K.D. Doran and Wallace advanced to the quarterfinals and qualified for the regioanls.

Mazaheri and Morton, the No. 2-seeded doubles team will play today at 1:30 to finish play that was suspended due to darkness. The OEC Championships continue on Thursday and Friday.
