Macy’s offers shopping for charity
Macy’s will host its annual Community Shopping Days event at South Coast Plaza office from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 11 to support Southern California charities.
Shoppers who hold Community Shopping Day tickets will get 10 to 20% off at the store, plus each shopper will have a chance to win a $500 shopping spree. Tickets cost $10 and will be sold at the door.
Other than discounts, the store will hold a petites fashion show, the “Little Black Dress” event and other in-store events. Proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, among other charitable organizations.

Newport real estate professional promoted
The Newport Beach office of Lee & Associates announced Wednesday that associate David C. Romero was promoted to vice president.
Romero is an office leasing and sales specialist for the company and was the office’s top producing associate last year.
Romero is a Cal State Fullerton graduate and a member of the American Industrial Real Estate Assn.
Newport Wells Fargo names district manager
Orange resident My-Ngoc Allred was recently named as Wells Fargo North Foothill District’s district manager, which puts her in charge of retail banking stores in Newport Beach, among other cities.
The district’s 13 stores in Newport, Anaheim Hills, Fullerton, Irvine, Placentia, Tustin and Yorba Linda handle $1.3 billion in deposits and employ more than 220 people.
Allred has worked for the company since 1992 in various branches, most recently as a manager at the Orange County Airport branch in Newport.
Chamber and alliance to honor business leaders
The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce and South Coast Metro Alliance will host the annual 2007 Hall of Fame Awards from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to honor corporate and community leadership in the business community.
The event, which will be held at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, will honor Sandy Segerstrom of C.J. Segerstrom and Sons with the Community Spirit Award.
Orange Coast College director of community relations Jim Carnett will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Reservations are still available. Sponsorship and a table for eight costs $1,000. Without sponsorship, a table for eight costs $400. An individual reservation can be made for $50.
