Laguna Beach police are looking for a teenage suspect who allegedly brandished a knife at a jogger at about 8:30 p.m. Monday on the 500 block of Catalina Street, demanding the victim’s Ipod, Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.
The victim, a 29-year-old Laguna Beach man, escaped without giving up the Ipod and without injury.
The suspect leapt out at the victim from a van that was occupied by two other suspects — both men of undetermined age — which pulled in front of the victim, blocking his path, Lenyi said.
The would-be robber is described as a 16- to 17-year-old male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, with blond hair. He was wearing a blue jacket with a hood, a beanie cap, gray sweatpants pulled up to his knees and white sneakers.
The van is described as a two-toned, light and dark blue GMC mini-van, older and in poor condition.
